Frequently Asked Questions

  • Both Dr. Lipschitz and our APRNs are fully licensed to provide psychopharmacology (including evaluating, diagnosing, and prescribing) and psychotherapy services in the state of Connecticut.

    Our advanced practice nurse practitioners (APRNs) have a masters or doctoral level education with a specialization in psychiatry.

    A psychiatrist is a medical doctor who has completed at least 4 years of residency training in psychiatry.

    As a collaborative practice, our clinical team (Dr. Lipschitz and the APRNs) meet on a weekly basis to discuss patient treatment needs.

  • Our practice is out-of-network which means we do not accept any insurance.

    Payment is required at time of service. We provide all of our patients with a Superbill which can be submitted to your insurance for reimbursement if you have out-of-network benefits.

  • Our clinicians conduct a thorough psychiatric evaluation for each individual before designing a treatment plan and making recommendations regarding medication and/or therapy.

  • We use a HIPAA Compliant electronic medical records (EMR) platform called Simple Practice for documentation.

    All information disclosed within sessions and the written records pertaining to those sessions are confidential and may not be revealed to anyone without your written permission except where disclosure is required by law.

    Details about confidntiality and mandated reporting are included in our practice policies which are given to all new patients.

  • All psychiatric evaluations must be completed in-person at our office.

    After your initial evaluation appointment(s) we offer Telehealth services on a case-by-case basis.

    We pay attention to all laws governing Telehealth medicine which are evolving and can impact services for certain groups of patients.
